Major Linda Hildebrandt, Commanding Officer of Regional Cadet Instructor School (Pacific) presents a commemorative plate emblazoned with the Cadet Instructor Cadre Branch Badge to reviewing officer Lieutenant Commander Gerry Pash in recognition of his long time support to the CIC Branch officer training school. The graduation parade was the last event at the school for Lt.-Cmdr. Pash who retired in June 2009 after serving as the Public Affairs Officer for Regional Cadets Support Unit (Pacific) for almost 20 years.

"Bonnie, this Christmas my dad was very overcome with emotions due to the significance of this Crest and plate .  Not sure if you aware the history of the HMCS Kootenay.  My dad served on it in 1969 when it exploded off the coast of Plymouth England, and 9 crew members were killed and 53 injured. My dad lost many friends that day. He attended the 40th aniversary of last year in Halifax and met up with many of his old ship mates. I know this means a lot to him and I am sure others will want one just because of the significance of the the ship and the changes made in the Navy because of this explosion.  It looks great! Just a note to let you know I received my plate yesterday and must say that both I and my wife are very, very happy. It  is in fact beautiful we didn't realize how nice it is. The pictures on the internet don't do it justice.  I'm amazed how you can do that. now we have something to show our friends what a keepsake it is. I can't wait for my son to see it. Later on we will order the Halifax rifles plate.

Thank you so much for the amazing level of service and the beautiful crafts (wo)manship of the Engineer Plate you made for my husband.  I know we gave you very short notice, but you delivered on your promise and it arrived with time to spare!  He presented it to his unit at his farewell party and everyone  was in awe of the level of detail.  They will be proudly displaying it at 6 ES in North Vancouver for all to see, and I have no doubt that you well receive a few calls from others interested in getting one for themselves!  Thanks again for everything!"
